All classes have an instructor to student ratio of 1 to
10. All instructors are either certified or qualified teachers, experienced tutors, or specialists in their teaching
areas. Classes times vary depending on the school. Students are assessed (Math Ability Assessment) at the beginning of the course. We reserve the right to cancel courses or change instructors.
Fundamental Mathematics and
Magic Chess/Math Puzzles - Grades 1 to 8
This course introduces students to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers, along with learning fundamental chess. As students progress and improve through the course, whole number operations increase in difficulty. Classes also cover any necessary review of school material, help with homework and test preparation. Students will be using the Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division, Whole Number Operations, and the Fundamental Magic Chess and Math Puzzles Workbooks. This course continues from year to year as the student progresses.
Mathematics, Problem Solving and Magic Chess/Math Puzzles - Grades
1 to 8
In this mathematics course, students continue to improve upon their mathematical ability, as they boost brainpower and unlock their true potential. Students will work on mastering math concepts (whether it is remedial or advanced), learn chess tactics and strategies and develop problem-solving techniques. Students will be using the Whole Number Problem Solving, Magic Chess and Math Puzzles and the Fundamental Math Workbooks. The Fundamental Math Workbook covers all the major concepts a student should know before moving on to grade seven. Classes also cover any necessary review of school material, help with homework and test preparation. This course continues from year to year as the student progresses.
Chess for Juniors - Grades K
to 8
This course provides beginners chess for the novice. This course is also designed for students who are interested in advancing chess skills or for those who are interested in preparing for chess competitions.
